Volusia County Mosquito Control is hosting two tire amnesty events to remove old tires from residents’ properties, which serve as common mosquito breeding grounds. Residents can dispose of up to 20 tires per person during the events at no charge.

The events will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in New Smyrna Beach and Pierson.
• Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 at the Volusia County Mosquito Control Facility, 801 South St., New Smyrna Beach
• Saturday, Jan. 13, 2023 at the Volusia County Road and Bridge equipment staging site at the intersection of Blackburn Road and South County Road 3 in Pierson

Entrances to events will be marked with flags, and staff will be onsite to guide residents to a drive-thru drop-off route.
